About the Role:
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust seeks a part-time Advanced Wellbeing Instructor to support fitness program delivery at the Berwick Infirmary site. This role is focused on improving staff wellbeing through personalized fitness programs and inclusive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver gym inductions at hospital site gyms.
- Identify physical activity goals, design and monitor personalized programmes.
- Induct staff to gym facilities, providing fitness programs and monitoring progress to increase physical activity and improve overall wellbeing.
- Deliver fitness classes and personal training, both in-person and virtually.
- Work with referral cases from other services (physiotherapy, psychology).
- Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership to foster a collective leadership culture.
- Engage, enable, and empower others through coaching.
- Promote ownership of learning and quality improvement.
- Facilitate team working and collaboration.
- Identify and engage individuals with wellbeing memberships.
- Encourage non-members to join.
- Attend engagement events to raise awareness of wellbeing services.
- Support individuals in making informed health choices.
- Support behavioural changes for improved health.
- Help individuals find and use relevant health services.
- Identify new and strengthen existing referral pathways to the Wellbeing Service.
- Collaborate with the Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator on capacity building.
- Support delivery of an activity and wellbeing plan with opportunities for staff engagement.
- Record and report activities and results, presenting progress to the Wellbeing business manager.
- Manage and support Fitness / Gym instructor responsibilities and outcomes.
- Ensure safe running of staff gym and wellbeing facilities, adhering to all processes, policies, and procedures.
- Promote wellbeing services to staff and raise awareness in communities.
- Contribute to the safe management of gym suites and wellbeing areas.
- Maintain appropriate records of Northumbria Wellbeing members, ensuring data is collected and stored appropriately.
- Contribute to implementing wellbeing activities that support projects, awards, and recognition events.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proven experience in delivering fitness programs and personal training.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
- Knowledge of health and wellbeing principles.
- Experience in working with diverse individuals.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer literacy for managing data and records.
