About the Role:

We are recruiting a Gastroenterology Specialist Nurse to join our team at Isle of Wight NHS Trust. This role provides specialist nursing support to patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and ensures high-quality care. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist nursing contributions to the clinical management of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Maintain high standards in gastroenterology services.
  • Contribute to improved patient outcomes.
  • Develop, implement and maintain clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Participate in departmental audits and research programs.
  • Educate and disseminate best practices within the department.
  • Continuously update knowledge and skills in nursing and specialist areas of care.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Specialist nursing qualifications and experience in gastroenterology or related fields.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and IT systems.
