About the Role:
Join our busy and fast-paced Paediatric Emergency Department as a Band 5 Staff Nurse and support our team in delivering high-quality care to children and their families. This role requires a compassionate, hardworking individual who will play a vital part in the department’s successful operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering all relevant forms of care (post preceptorship) without direct supervision.
- Demonstrating procedures and supervising unqualified/adaptation staff while maintaining a safe environment.
- Providing high-quality, effective, and individualized care that is compassionate and caring.
- Assessing care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans without supervision.
- Assisting in leading and monitoring the performance of the nursing team.
- Working with the ward manager and multi-disciplinary team members to monitor and maintain policies, nursing care standards, and staff development.
- Being flexible in the clinical area and providing cover for any area specified within the Emergency Department.
Skills and Expertise:
- Relevant nursing qualifications (Band 5).
- Experience in paediatric emergency care is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
