About the Role:
This Catering Assistant role at Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust involves supporting the Catering Manager with food preparation, service, and kitchen maintenance. The role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations within the dining area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of food and refreshments.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen and equipment.
- Prepare the dining room for service, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and table setting.
- Move dining room furniture as needed.
- Serve meals and refreshments according to Academy standards.
- Assist with Academy hospitality functions.
- Assist with washing up and general cleaning of kitchen and dining areas.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in food preparation or related roles preferred
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines
- Commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals
- A DBS check is mandatory
