About the Role:
This full-time (37 hours per week) Social Work position, based in a hybrid home/office model within Dundee’s multi-agency child protection building, is key to the Bairns’ Hoose Tayside Pathfinder program. The role focuses on providing high-quality social work services to children and families, preventing care placement where possible, and assisting children in care with rehabilitation or permanent placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective and high-quality social work services to children and families.
- Assist children and families to safely remain within the community.
- Support children in care towards rehabilitation with their families or permanent placement.
Skills and Expertise:
- Social Work Degree (CQSW, Dip SW, or CSS with relevant option)
- Knowledge of child care and protection practice, legislation
- Experience working with children and families, and understanding the needs of looked-after children
- Commitment to positive outcomes for children and young people
- Effective communication skills with children, families, and carers
- Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments within timescales
- Ability to work beyond normal hours when required
- Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council
- Commitment to multi-agency working
- Positive attitude
