About the Role:

This role involves providing comprehensive client representation and monitoring services for council contracts, specifically those related to PFI/PPP contracts. The role supports effective contract management and ensures legislative compliance. Assisting with service delivery and continuous improvement is vital in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor individual contracts, adhering to council procurement and contract management procedures and national best practice.
  • Ensure legislative compliance on school properties, satisfying client landlord duties, and keeping school management informed.
  • Guarantee contractor obligations are met according to Project Agreements and specifications.
  • Deliver high-quality service to stakeholders, driving contract management transformation within the Directorate.
  • Continuously improve service areas, monitoring performance against local and national indicators and quality standards.
  • Review contractor performance against time, cost, and quality standards, ensuring lessons learned inform future contract commissioning and monitoring.

Skills and Expertise:

  • HNC or equivalent higher qualification.
  • Project management experience, ideally using Prince 2 principles.
  • Knowledge of high-value, complex contracts.
  • Experience working with service providers in PFI or PPP contracts.
  • Experience with PFI contract finance.
  • Experience with budget and/or financial modelling using MS Excel.
