About the Role:
KSM, diagnosed with ME/CFS, requires daily support. This role provides personalized assistance with meal preparation, personal care, toileting, and social activities to maintain K’s well-being and independence. The ideal candidate must be reliable, supportive, and compassionate. This position requires a flexible and caring individual to provide routine assistance and support for KSM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals (lunch & dinner) and snacks/drinks to meet nutritional needs.
- Provide personal care support including assistance with daily hygiene routines, dressing, and changing.
- Assist with toileting, including use of the female urine bottle and commode.
- Engage in social and leisure activities, including craft work, and spending meaningful time with KSM to foster social wellbeing.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience working with individuals with ME/CFS or other chronic illnesses
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and compassion
- Reliability and strong time management skills
- Previous experience as a Personal Assistant is beneficial but not essential
- Respect for privacy and confidentiality
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- 11.88 per hour
- 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time)
- DBS check funded by the employer
