About the Role:

Our client, a leading specialist care provider, seeks an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries and progressive neurological diseases. This role focuses on expert assessment, advice, and treatment for complex communication and swallowing needs. You will play a key leadership role in supervision and management of another therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert assessment, advice, and treatment for individuals with complex swallow and communication needs.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support individuals and their families in achieving person-centred goals.
  • Supervise and manage a full-time Speech & Language Therapist.
  • Conduct detailed evaluations of speech, language, and swallowing needs, providing tailored therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with individuals, their families, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care.
  • Apply expertise in acquired neurological speech, language, and communication needs, as well as eating, drinking, and swallowing disorders.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Degree or postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration and membership with the RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists).
  • Experience managing acquired speech, language, and communication needs associated with neurological changes.
  • Experience assessing and managing eating, drinking, feeding, and swallowing difficulties (essential).
  • Leadership skills including supervising and developing other SLTs.
