About the Role:
As a Mobile Electrical Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering vital electrical maintenance services across commercial and residential sites in Berkshire, Hertfordshire, and South Bucks. Your expertise in electrical systems is key, but you’ll also have opportunities to expand your skills into mechanical systems, air handling units, and pumps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work, including fault finding and diagnostics.
- Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks, accurately logging completion times and paperwork.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and plant failures, restoring systems to operational order.
- Manage spare parts, providing parts lists and estimated timelines for remedial work.
- Conduct risk assessments (POWRA) to maintain safe working practices and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Operate a Permit to Work system ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and the team to maintain high service standards.
- Participate in the regional on-call rota for out-of-hours breakdowns.
- Keep plant rooms tidy and compliant with safety standards, and maintain tools and test equipment.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training across additional trades, like mechanical systems.
Skills and Expertise:
- Recognized industry qualification (Electrical).
- Strong experience in electrical systems maintenance, fault finding, and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, air handling units, pumps, and building management systems (advantageous).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Valid UK driver’s license.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and in an out-of-hours standby rota.
