About the Role:
The Planning & Logistics Officer in Gloucester plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transport of custodies. This position is crucial for smooth operations and maintaining service delivery standards within the Prisoner Escort Custody Services (PECS) network in London, East and West England.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule vehicles for the safe transport of custodies, adhering to service delivery agreements.
- Collaborate with crews and establishments (prisons, courts, etc.) to ensure timely and secure custody transportation.
- Monitor vehicles and respond to emergency alarms raised by crews using relevant IT applications.
- Coordinate with multiple agencies to ensure safe and secure custody delivery.
- Adapt to unpredictable changes and effectively manage incidents and challenges.
Skills and Expertise:
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Resilient with exceptional communication skills
- Computer literate with the ability to quickly assimilate large volumes of data/information
- Experience in a similar role (organising large scale logistics/scheduling plans in a large geographical area) is desirable but not essential
- Excellent planning and time-management skills
