About the Role:

Join our leadership team as an inspirational Deputy Head of SEND and play a pivotal role in shaping future SEND services in Tameside. Support the Head of SEND Service, deputize when needed, and provide strategic leadership for high-quality, inclusive SEND services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of SEND Service and deputise when required.
  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure high-quality, inclusive SEND service delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (schools, families, health & social care) to drive improvements and champion best outcomes.
  • Lead on key areas of SEND service delivery.
  • Oversee statutory processes and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Support the development of provision to meet the needs of children & young people up to 25.
  • Manage and support SEND service managers.
  • Contribute to local area SEND partnership initiatives.
  • Ensure effective use of resources.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven leadership experience in SEND or a related field.
  • Track record of delivering impactful results.
  • Thorough knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic mindset focused on delivering outstanding outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
  • Ability to inspire and support others to achieve excellence.
  • Experience in managing statutory processes.
  • Experience in service improvement.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
