About the Role:
Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a passionate and confident Kitchen Assistant for their new state-of-the-art PICU & Acute hospital in Oldbury, West Midlands. This role involves preparing nutritious and appealing meals, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, and supporting a multi-disciplinary team in providing the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of balanced and appetizing meals.
- Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room.
- Wash utensils, dishes, and ensure proper storage.
- Rotate stock and put away deliveries.
- Maintain personal hygiene and adhere to food hygiene regulations.
- Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment according to procedures.
- Use chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in catering, ideally within a care setting.
- Valid food hygiene certificate.
- Strong personal hygiene standards.
- Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and teamwork skills.
- Professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
- Diligence, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
