About the Role:
The Newcastle Dental Hospital seeks a driven Dental Laboratory Manager to lead and manage technical laboratories, overseeing a team of 25 technicians, lab assistants, and apprentices. This role plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality technical services and adapting to evolving digital trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage human, financial, and physical resources of the laboratories.
- Lead technical expertise in orthodontics, prosthodontics, crown and bridge, and maxillo-facial specialties.
- Produce highly specialized work for patients.
- Liaise with senior management, clinical teams, and the University of Newcastle.
- Provide training and leadership to staff.
- Adapt the workforce to future challenges and maintain value-for-money technical services.
- Monitor work commissioned from commercial laboratories.
- Ensure efficient delivery of staff and student training.
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Proven experience in a technical laboratory setting.
- Expertise in orthodontics, prosthodontics, crown and bridge, and maxillo-facial specialties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
