About the Role:

This exciting Band 5 Physiotherapist role within Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers a structured rotation scheme across various clinical specialities, including neurorehabilitation, trauma, intensive care, and more. The rotations aim to provide a broad base of experience, allowing for progression within the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat patients’ caseloads autonomously, maintaining detailed records.
  • Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and patients/carers.
  • Participate in departmental training, education, and professional development activities.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for patient care.
  • Actively participate in appraisal and supervision processes.
  • Maintain and develop own Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Assist in the supervision of physiotherapy assistants and students.
  • Participate in extended hours working, including overnight emergency on-call and weekend working.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of national and professional physiotherapy guidelines.
  • Proven ability to provide high-standard physiotherapy interventions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including working with diverse patient populations.
  • Knowledge of trauma orthopaedics, respiratory medicine, intensive care, acute medicine, surgical and vascular, neurosciences, neurorehabilitation, women’s and men’s health, gerontology, oncology, haematology.
  • Proficiency in assessment and treatment techniques, including manual and electrotherapy, therapeutic handling, patient education, exercise classes.
  • Ability to analyse clinical and non-clinical information to formulate accurate diagnoses and care plans.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and experience in a fast-paced hospital environment.
