First Contact Chefs
About the Role:
This stylish hotel seeks a passionate and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join their highly-talented kitchen brigade. You will play a key role in leading a section, creating high-quality dishes, and upholding the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee the day-to-day running of your section to meet service requirements.
- Adhere to all health and hygiene standards.
- Supervise and lead a team of Commis and Demi Chefs.
- Sample, smell, and observe food to ensure conformance to recipes and standards.
- Take orders from the Sous Chef and manage Commis/Demi Chef tasks for accurate execution.
- Prepare daily wine, dry storage, and food requisitions for Sous Chef approval, optimizing stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and efficient kitchen section, maximizing food utilization.
- Participate in food production, portioning meats, fish, vegetables, and desserts, and managing food surpluses to control costs.
- Communicate and collaborate with back-of-the-house personnel for efficient food production.
- Conduct daily food line inspections to ensure quality maintenance.
Skills and Expertise:
- NVQ levels 2 & 3 (ideal).
- Experience in a Michelin-star or AA Rosette establishment.
- Hotel or restaurant background.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and styles.
- Good understanding of food, hygiene, and safety.
- COSHH knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written English.
- Computer literacy.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Experience with fresh produce.
- NVQ level 1 and 2 or equivalent, and hygiene certificate.
