About the Role:

Join the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity as an Infection Prevention Lead Nurse to manage the daily operations of Infection Prevention and Control. This role plays a vital part in creating a positive patient experience through effective infection prevention and control strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the lead microbiologist and support the Director of Clinical Services as the DIPC
  • Manage the infection prevention audit schedule and lead the infection prevention link team
  • Produce an annual Infection Prevention programme and train the clinical and non-clinical team
  • Facilitate the quality assurance review and produce the annual infection prevention report
  • Assist with policy development, carrying out action plans, and improving best practice
  • Support clinical governance in the hospital

Skills and Expertise:

  • Registration with the appropriate governing body (e.g., NMC)
  • Relevant qualifications and experience, including post-registration experience (at least two years in infection prevention and control)
  • Proven ability in conducting investigations and root cause analysis
  • Expertise in advising clinical teams on infection prevention and control measures
