About the Role:
Support a teenage boy with spina bifida in his home environment, offering part-time support on Thursday and Friday evenings (5.30pm-8.30pm) and Saturday mornings (8am-1pm). This rewarding role requires a caring nature and a passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a teenage boy with spina bifida with moving and handling, including hoisting.
- Assist with personal care.
- Engage in activities such as visiting the equine centre, colouring, and playing card games.
- Provide support and companionship to the client and his family.
Skills and Expertise:
- Valid driver’s license and car (essential due to rural location)
- Passion for working with children with special needs
- Kind and caring nature
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and flexibility
- Experience with hoisting and moving and handling (preferred)
