About the Role:
Lead and inspire a dynamic healthcare team in the Urgent Care department at Crawley Hospital’s Clinical Assessment Unit and Urgent Treatment Centre. Manage patient care, and provide leadership and support to staff in the delivery of individualized care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of patients, assessing, implementing, and evaluating care.
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance to staff in monitoring care delivery.
- Exercise judgment in identifying, assessing, and interpreting complex patient conditions.
- Plan and organize unit activities, managing staff allocation and reallocation.
- Ensure all staff are aware of emergency procedures.
- Lead the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care.
- Assist in planning duty rotas to meet clinical area needs.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, relatives, and staff, adhering to Risk Management policies.
- Assist with Major Incident response, where necessary.
- Provide professional leadership and supervision to staff.
- Act as a role model, managing complex situations and behaviours with care and compassion.
- Maintain professionalism and uphold Trust values.
- Ensure high standards of nursing care are maintained.
- Lead and participate in nursing and clinical audit.
- Manage the Unit in the absence of the Deputy Operational Head of Service, monitoring sickness and taking corrective action.
- Manage human and material resources.
- Apply local standards, policies, and philosophies of patient-centred care.
- Ensure junior staff training needs are maintained and communicated.
- Implement evidence-based and innovative nursing practices.
- Maintain and check medical and emergency equipment.
- Manage the unit budget and participate in ordering supplies.
- Accountable for direct delivery of care to patients.
- Responsible for assessing, treating, discharging, or referring patients.
- Responsible for maintaining high standards of nursing care
Skills and Expertise:
- Experienced Clinical Team Lead
- Proven ability to manage patient care
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of risk management
- Familiarity with Major Incident protocols
- Supervisory experience
- Expertise in relevant clinical areas
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and resources
- Proficient in patient assessment and treatment protocols
