About the Role:
We are seeking two full-time Band 6 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist positions in York and Selby to join our supportive team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role requires a passionate and skilled individual to work across diverse settings, including educational, clinical, and home settings, supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist speech and language therapy for paediatric patients with complex needs.
- Manage an independent caseload of patients with complex needs.
- Maintain accurate records adhering to Trust, HCPC, and RCSLT guidelines.
- Take responsibility for a defined service area with clinical oversight.
- Offer support, specialist advice, and training to less experienced staff and students.
- Serve as a departmental and Trust resource, offering expert information and guidance.
- Contribute to the collection of business data to inform service development.
- Work flexibly to meet departmental needs, supporting inpatient, outpatient, and community services.
- Participate in supervision, education, and training to support professional development.
- Initiate evidence-based audits and projects to enhance clinical practice.
Skills and Expertise:
- Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
- Experience in managing a caseload of patients with complex communication needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Excellent record-keeping abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
