About the Role:
Mencap is seeking a reliable Van Driver based in Derby to support our extensive stock movement and collection tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a company van to transport goods and materials, adhering to safety regulations.
- Assist the area team and provide cover at other stores when required.
- Travel to meetings, training events, and other locations, including occasional long distances and overnight stays (expenses paid).
- Answer emergency calls via telephone out of hours.
- Lift and handle items of various sizes and weights on a frequent basis.
Skills and Expertise:
- Valid driving license and van driving experience.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and adhere to required schedules including Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
- Physical ability to lift and handle various weights/sizes of stock.
- Basic computer skills (for administrative tasks).
- Willingness to assist the team and cover other locations as needed.
- Experience of transporting goods.
- Basic DBS (Criminal Record) check.
