About the Role:

A Personal Assistant is required to support a disabled lady with daily living tasks, including personal care, domestic duties, and social activities, as well as supporting her 17-year-old son with his specific needs. This role demands a compassionate, organised individual who is adept at providing comprehensive support and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with personal care, including showering/washing, dressing, and catheter care.
  • Grocery shopping and meal preparation, adhering to dietary requirements.
  • Managing household tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and gardening (where applicable).
  • Providing support with mobility and transfer needs.
  • Supervising the 17-year-old son with special needs and managing his daily routine.
  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for both the lady and her son.
  • Accompanying the lady to appointments and social events in the community.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven experience in providing personal care and support to vulnerable individuals.
  • Trained in medication administration and catheter care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, understanding, and compassionate nature.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience supporting individuals with various needs (including ME, nosebleeds, and anxiety).
  • Clean driving license and access to a vehicle.
