About the Role:

Manage and oversee laboratory operations in Swansea, focusing on quality and efficiency. This role is crucial for the smooth running of the Laboratory Medicine Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the laboratory section.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards (UKAS, MHRA, IBMS).
  • Manage staff performance and provide support.
  • Manage and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving efficiency.
  • Monitor laboratory metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accreditation standards.
  • Manage the laboratory budget and resources effectively.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in laboratory management.
  • Deep understanding of relevant laboratory procedures.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and ensure productivity.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory management software and systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
