About the Role:
This locum consultant role in haematology at NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, offers a dynamic opportunity to provide expert care and support for patients with various conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, and management of patient care across ward, outpatient clinic, and laboratory settings.
- Actively support patients and families, communicating clinical information effectively.
- Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe treatments.
- Monitor and care for patients continuously.
- Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
- Lead and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Assess and prioritize patient needs, delegating effectively.
- Recognize, review, and report patient conditions and changes.
- Perform administrative tasks like record keeping, prescription writing, and treatment monitoring.
- Conduct research to improve procedures and outcomes.
- Train and mentor junior doctors and medical students.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC registered Doctor (no requirement to be on Specialist Register).
- Consultant-level experience or evidence of demonstrable experience in transition to Consultant role.
- Proof of UK Right to Work.
- Eligibility for enhanced background check (DBS).
