About the Role:
We are seeking a Locum Consultant Histopathologist for Maidstone General Hospital. This exciting opportunity requires a highly skilled and experienced histopathologist to provide expert diagnostic services within the Pathology Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively support patients and families, communicating diagnoses clearly.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, leading where appropriate.
- Assess and prioritize patient needs, delegating tasks effectively.
- Examine patient samples, determining necessary tests and investigations.
- Provide advice and interpret test results, assessing further investigation needs.
- Deliver clinical care, conducting ward rounds and outpatient clinics as needed.
- Oversee the smooth running of the Pathology Department, planning workload and staffing.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
- Conduct research and maintain up-to-date knowledge.
- Adhere to the NMC professional Code of Conduct.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC registered Doctor
- Relevant experience at Consultant level (or demonstrable potential)
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience with reporting in histopathology specialties, especially GI, urology, breast, and gynae (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- 100-125 per hour (PAYE)
