About the Role:
We are seeking a highly qualified Locum Consultant Haematologist to support the malignant haematology service in Weston General Hospital, with a specific focus on myeloma and myeloid conditions, as well as the 2-week wait service. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to patient care and collaboration within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of patient care.
- Support patients and their families, explaining clinical information clearly.
- Coordinate and prescribe treatment plans.
- Monitor and maintain patient care.
- Communicate with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Lead and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Prioritize patient needs and delegate effectively.
- Report on patient condition and any changes.
- Perform administrative tasks, including record keeping and prescription management.
- Conduct research to improve procedures and outcomes.
- Train and mentor junior doctors and medical students.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC registered doctor with valid license to practice.
- Consultant-level experience in Haematology (or demonstrable evidence of suitable transition).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Experience in the diagnosis and management of haematological conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass an enhanced background check.
