About the Role:

We are seeking a highly qualified Locum Consultant Haematologist to support the malignant haematology service in Weston General Hospital, with a specific focus on myeloma and myeloid conditions, as well as the 2-week wait service. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to patient care and collaboration within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of patient care.
  • Support patients and their families, explaining clinical information clearly.
  • Coordinate and prescribe treatment plans.
  • Monitor and maintain patient care.
  • Communicate with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Prioritize patient needs and delegate effectively.
  • Report on patient condition and any changes.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including record keeping and prescription management.
  • Conduct research to improve procedures and outcomes.
  • Train and mentor junior doctors and medical students.

Skills and Expertise:

  • GMC registered doctor with valid license to practice.
  • Consultant-level experience in Haematology (or demonstrable evidence of suitable transition).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience in the diagnosis and management of haematological conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced background check.
