About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Consultant Histopathologist to join East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation NHS Trust in Colchester. This key role is focused on providing expert diagnostic services and supporting the pathology team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support patients and families, communicating diagnoses clearly.
- Lead or participate in multidisciplinary teams.
- Prioritize patient needs and delegate tasks effectively.
- Conduct patient examinations and order necessary tests.
- Advise clinical staff on diagnostic investigations.
- Interpret test results and determine further investigation needs.
- Deliver clinical care, including ward rounds and clinics.
- Manage the pathology department’s operations, including planning and staffing.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Conduct research and maintain current knowledge.
- Adhere to NMC professional standards.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC-registered Doctor (not required to be on Specialist Register).
- Consultant-level experience in Histopathology, or demonstrable potential for advancement.
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship offered).
- Successful completion of an enhanced background check (DBS).
