About the Role:
This locum consultant position in histopathology at Ipswich Hospital offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation NHS Trust. You will diagnose and treat patients, contributing to disease prevention and effective treatment strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support patients and families, communicating diagnoses clearly.
- Contribute to and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Assess and prioritize patient needs, delegating tasks effectively.
- Employ diagnostic skills to determine necessary tests.
- Advise clinical staff on diagnostic investigations.
- Interpret test results and recommend further investigations.
- Deliver patient care, conduct ward rounds, and manage outpatient clinics.
- Manage Pathology Department operations, including workload and staffing.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff.
- Conduct research and maintain up-to-date knowledge.
- Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC registered Doctor
- Consultant-level experience in Histopathology, or proven track record leading to Consultant level.
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced background check (DBS) successful completion
