About the Role:

Downsview Primary School is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Class Teacher to join their team. This full-time role (EYFS- Y6) focuses on providing engaging and effective lessons to children of various needs and learning styles, ensuring their academic progress and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire, and develop knowledge.
  • Effectively teach children, meeting their varied needs.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles.
  • Demonstrate thorough subject knowledge and stay current with national and local developments.
  • Create a highly stimulating classroom environment that supports learning.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with school aims and policies.
  • Set clear learning targets and use assessment data to inform planning.
  • Attend parent consultations and provide regular updates on pupil progress.
  • Uphold school principles and core values, and role-model positive behaviour.
  • Follow school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of dress, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Participate in open evenings and report on pupil progress.
  • Participate and contribute to staff training and meetings.
  • Embrace professional development and research.
  • Reflect on and improve teaching performance.
  • Be a role model in actions and behaviour.
  • Undertake professional development and research as agreed.
  • Direct additional adults to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Comply with child protection, health and safety policies, and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Undertake other tasks as reasonably requested by the Headteacher.
  • Run a school club to enhance pupils experiences beyond the classroom.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree-level or higher qualifications
  • 3rd year of teaching or above
  • Proven ability to teach and successfully engage pupils, meeting varied needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to raise standards and accelerate pupil progress.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Curriculum structure and requirements.
  • Strong subject knowledge and awareness of current developments.
  • Proficient use of ICT in teaching.
  • Commitment to child safeguarding and protection.
  • Commitment to equal opportunities and diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including time management.
  • Adaptability in teaching methods and flexible grouping strategies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including persuasion, diplomacy, and flexibility.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
  • High expectations of pupils, adults, and self
