About the Role:

We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Science Teacher to join our secondary school in Greater London. This role provides a unique opportunity to shape the learning experience and support the development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science at KS3 and KS4 levels, adhering to the National Curriculum.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans, resources, and assessments to ensure high-quality learning.
  • Manage and monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to departmental planning.
  • Conduct operational and strategic planning, including lesson planning, resource development, and syllabuses.
  • Plan and deliver curriculum.
  • Support staff development, including continuing professional development and Performance Management Review process.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, monitoring and evaluating the subject area.
  • Manage information, maintain records and track student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a form tutor to a selected group of students.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Successful teaching experience at secondary level (teaching practice considered).
  • Understanding of effective teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
  • Excellent ICT skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Ability to create a motivating and safe learning environment.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to motivate students and raise aspirations.
