About the Role:
We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Science Teacher to join our secondary school in Greater London. This role provides a unique opportunity to shape the learning experience and support the development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science at KS3 and KS4 levels, adhering to the National Curriculum.
- Develop engaging lesson plans, resources, and assessments to ensure high-quality learning.
- Manage and monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to departmental planning.
- Conduct operational and strategic planning, including lesson planning, resource development, and syllabuses.
- Plan and deliver curriculum.
- Support staff development, including continuing professional development and Performance Management Review process.
- Contribute to quality assurance, monitoring and evaluating the subject area.
- Manage information, maintain records and track student progress.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents and other stakeholders.
- Act as a form tutor to a selected group of students.
Skills and Expertise:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Relevant undergraduate degree.
- Successful teaching experience at secondary level (teaching practice considered).
- Understanding of effective teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
- Excellent ICT skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and spoken).
- Ability to create a motivating and safe learning environment.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to motivate students and raise aspirations.
