About the Role:

Serco is seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team at AASC in Warrington. This role is responsible for maintaining the condition of designated properties, ensuring they meet contractual standards and the safety of occupants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide building maintenance services to a designated area/properties.
  • Report and manage faults using the IT system.
  • Ensure properties are free from building defects as per the Home Office Contract.
  • Liaise with external subcontractors to ensure work completion and standards.
  • Conduct audit samples of external supplier work and report findings.
  • Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) annually.
  • Provide specialist trade services according to certified standards.
  • Offer technical advice and support to the maintenance section.
  • Provide property sign-offs for relevant trades.
  • Ensure safety for all property users.
  • Check property reports before undertaking works (asbestos, dangerous persons, etc.).
  • Repair or replace Serco-supplied furniture.
  • Purchase materials from approved Serco suppliers.
  • Obtain manager approval for plant or tool purchases over 100.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and work completed.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Tradesperson experience (desirable)
  • Ability to manage workflow independently and collaboratively
  • Valid UK drivers license
  • Experience with building maintenance (desirable)
  • Knowledge of relevant building regulations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
