About the Role:

This locum Consultant in Elderly Medicine position at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team and contribute to the development of clinical services for older adults in Cambridgeshire for 12 months, commencing March 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist care on core medicine for the elderly wards, Frailty Front Door service, and outpatients.
  • Establish rapid access clinics and care-home interface work.
  • Participate in developing innovative processes of care for elderly patients.
  • Potentially participate in the General Medicine (GIM) on-call rota.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Lead to develop subspecialty areas of interest.
  • Support education and training of Residents.
  • Utilize research opportunities available on the biomedical campus.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Geriatrics speciality training
  • Full GMC registration
  • CCT or within six months of CCT award
  • Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking English for effective communication with patients and colleagues
  • (Non-UK applicants: IELTS/OET certification)
  • Experience in developing clinical services for older adults
  • (Preference for experience in rapid access clinics, care-home interfaces, and education/training)
