About the Role:
This locum Consultant in Elderly Medicine position at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team and contribute to the development of clinical services for older adults in Cambridgeshire for 12 months, commencing March 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist care on core medicine for the elderly wards, Frailty Front Door service, and outpatients.
- Establish rapid access clinics and care-home interface work.
- Participate in developing innovative processes of care for elderly patients.
- Potentially participate in the General Medicine (GIM) on-call rota.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Lead to develop subspecialty areas of interest.
- Support education and training of Residents.
- Utilize research opportunities available on the biomedical campus.
Skills and Expertise:
- Geriatrics speciality training
- Full GMC registration
- CCT or within six months of CCT award
- Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking English for effective communication with patients and colleagues
- (Non-UK applicants: IELTS/OET certification)
- Experience in developing clinical services for older adults
- (Preference for experience in rapid access clinics, care-home interfaces, and education/training)
