About the Role:

This locum position seeks a highly skilled and experienced Endoscopy Consultant or SpR to provide critical diagnostic, therapeutic, and screening endoscopy services. The role offers the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule at a leading NHS trust in South England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative, and postoperative patient management.
  • Support patients and families, effectively communicating diagnoses and treatment options.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe treatments.
  • Monitor and provide ongoing care for patients.
  • Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team for shared decision-making.
  • Lead or contribute to multidisciplinary teams where appropriate.
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, effectively delegating tasks.
  • Recognize, review, and report patient conditions and changes to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining records, writing prescriptions, and monitoring treatment plans.
  • Conduct research to develop and improve surgical techniques and outcomes.
  • Teach and mentor junior doctors, medical students, and other team members.

Skills and Expertise:

  • GMC registration (Specialist Register for Consultant-level positions)
  • Relevant Consultant/SpR experience or evidence of progression towards Consultant/SpR level.
  • UK Right to Work evidence (no visa sponsorship offered).
  • Background check (DBS).
