About the Role:
Cwm Taf Health Board seeks a highly skilled Locum Consultant Haematologist to provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and patient care in South Wales. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of haematology within the region, while working with a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care.
- Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information clearly.
- Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment.
- Provide constant monitoring and care for patients.
- Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
- Work in and lead a multidisciplinary team as appropriate.
- Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively.
- Recognise, review, and report patient condition and any changes.
- Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping and monitoring treatment plans.
- Conduct research and help develop techniques and equipment.
- Teach and train other junior doctors, medical students, and team members.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC registered Doctor
- Consultant level experience (or demonstrable transition potential)
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced background check (DBS) eligible
- Commitment to patient care, education, research, and infection control
