About the Role:

Cwm Taf Health Board seeks a highly skilled Locum Consultant Haematologist to provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and patient care in South Wales. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of haematology within the region, while working with a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care.
  • Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information clearly.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment.
  • Provide constant monitoring and care for patients.
  • Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work in and lead a multidisciplinary team as appropriate.
  • Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively.
  • Recognise, review, and report patient condition and any changes.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping and monitoring treatment plans.
  • Conduct research and help develop techniques and equipment.
  • Teach and train other junior doctors, medical students, and team members.

Skills and Expertise:

  • GMC registered Doctor
  • Consultant level experience (or demonstrable transition potential)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced background check (DBS) eligible
  • Commitment to patient care, education, research, and infection control
