About the Role:
We are recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils aged 2-19 at a West Leeds Special school. This role will provide vital support for students with various learning difficulties, including moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, complex needs, autism, and social, emotional and mental health needs. This includes working with complex communication needs and autism, and potentially involving personal care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with complex needs and autism.
- Provide care and assistance to pupils in a variety of settings.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff.
- Ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience within Care/support work
- Experience working with children or adults
- Experience working with Complex Communication Needs and Autism (essential)
- Education experience (desirable)
- Understanding of diverse learning needs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
