About the Role:
Drive evidence-based insights into policy change impacts for displaced, vulnerable, and/or undocumented individuals within the Home Office’s Asylum and Accommodation Analysis team in Greater Manchester. This role focuses on modelling demand, caseload, and supply within the asylum and accommodation space, supporting key government priorities. You’ll play a crucial role in transitioning modelling to Python.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model demand for Asylum Accommodation using operational research techniques.
- Scope and deliver new analytical requirements, and build modelling capability.
- Support HEO team members in delivering impactful insights.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (No10, HMT) to understand future demand for accommodation.
- Present and summarise complex modelling and assumptions to senior stakeholders.
- Balance high-volume analytical requests, responding quickly to high-profile asks from Ministers and No10.
- Work with wider G6 modelling teams to understand the impact of asylum policies on accommodation demand.
- Engage with stakeholders and analysts across the Home Office to scope and understand Asylum Accommodation supply requirements.
- Lead the implementation of model development plans to satisfy requirements of Ministers and stakeholders.
- Present and summarise complex modelling and assumptions to senior stakeholders.
- Balance technical requirements with business needs, broadening Home Office network and developing strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong operational research skills.
- Experience with modelling and data analytics.
- Proficiency in Python programming (highly desirable).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
