About the Role:

Lead a policy team in shaping groundbreaking reforms under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. This critical role focuses on designing and delivering impactful policies for 5 million UK companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver effective policies, ensuring successful operational implementation at Companies House.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Companies House, ministers, external stakeholders, and other government departments.
  • Manage strong public, political, and departmental interest in the area through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead a team of 8-10 policy professionals (including 3-4 Grade 7s) in achieving ambitious goals and driving impactful reforms.
  • Lead the policy design and delivery of reforms related to identity verification for company owners/directors, limited partnerships, digital filing, and the Register of Overseas Entities.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, coaching, and managing performance.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong experience in policy development within government.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in guiding and inspiring teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in consultations, advising ministers, and influencing stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of company law, transparency standards, and combating economic crime.
  • Knowledge of primary and secondary legislation.
