About the Role:
Lead a policy team in designing and delivering groundbreaking economic crime reforms under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. This key role involves shaping policies to enhance business transparency and combat corruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver impactful policies regarding economic crime and corporate transparency, ensuring effective implementation at Companies House.
- Manage and lead a team of 8-10 policy professionals, including 3-4 Grade 7s, to achieve ambitious goals.
- Collaborate with Companies House, lawyers, analysts, stakeholders, and other government departments to develop and implement effective policies.
- Provide regular advice to ministers and engage with stakeholders, ensuring strong policy alignment.
- Manage public, political, and departmental interest in this area through effective communication and relationship management.
- Maintain strong relationships with Companies House, ministers, and external stakeholders, influencing wider anti-corruption and illicit finance initiatives.
- Actively participate in the leadership of the wider team and directorate.
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong experience in policy development within government.
- Proven leadership skills in guiding and inspiring others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders and ministers.
- In-depth knowledge of company law, economic crime, and corporate transparency.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating policy effectiveness and identifying potential challenges.
