About the Role:
This role seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Therapeutic Activities Assistant to join the dementia and delirium team at Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will support the therapeutic activities coordinator in delivering person-centred activity programs for patients with dementia or delirium across inpatient wards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of high-quality therapeutic activity programs for older adults with dementia.
- Support the therapeutic activities coordinator in running group sessions (e.g., reminiscence, arts & crafts, sensory stimulation, gentle exercises, lunch club).
- Conduct one-to-one sessions with patients, supporting staff caring for those with complex behavioural needs.
- Liaise with dementia volunteers and carers to ensure person-centred activities are delivered.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience working with individuals living with dementia.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of the healthcare environment.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
