About the Role:

This Band 6 Dermatology Sister position at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust offers a chance to contribute to the Dermatology nursing service. The role involves daily management of the department, ensuring efficient treatment administration, and providing high-quality patient care. For those not fully meeting criteria, it’s also a developmental opportunity at Band 5 with potential progression to Band 6.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and contribute to the effective management of day treatment areas, ensuring efficient treatment administration.
  • Maintain full awareness of equipment usage, safety precautions, and handling procedures in Dermatology.
  • Participate in equipment maintenance and follow correct procedures for faulty or removed equipment.
  • Act as a professional role model to staff providing direct care.
  • Collaborate on a tailored training plan and fully engage in the development process to support growth into the Band 6 role.
  • Play a senior role in the day-to-day management of the dermatology area and provision of outpatient services.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Demonstrated competencies and experience in Dermatology nursing.
  • Strong understanding of equipment usage, safety, and handling in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize tasks within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading and motivating staff, particularly in a clinical setting.
