About the Role:
Sunderland Care and Support is seeking a Level 1 Care Coordinator for their Autism Team to provide person-centred care and support to individuals with complex needs, including physical support needs and behaviour that challenges. The role requires consistent support and enables customers to live as independently as possible within their supported living home, while promoting respect, dignity, engagement, and participation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional standards of person-centred care and support.
- Support customers with personal care needs as part of their care plan.
- Engage customers in community activities and trips.
- Assist with meal preparation, medication administration, and money management.
- Support with household tasks, shopping, and meeting friends/family.
- Adhere to health & safety legislation and maintain cleanliness & hygiene.
- Implement active support and positive behaviour support techniques.
- Help customers plan holidays and provide support as needed.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in providing care and support to individuals with autism.
- Understanding of complex needs and interventions (including active and positive behaviour support).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to promote respect, dignity, engagement, and participation.
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- 37 hours per week.
- Salary 25,584 – 27,269 (pro rata).
- Sleep-in payment (40.76 per shift).
