About the Role:
This full-time, ongoing teaching assistant role, starting in January, provides 1:1 support to students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs to help them progress in their education. The position offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of at-risk students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH needs.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies, including Team Teach.
- Support the student’s educational progress.
- Manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- Monitor and document student progress.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in an educational setting (mainstream or alternative provision).
- Experience working with students with challenging behaviour.
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience.
- Confident, caring, and assertive personality.
- Understanding of SEMH needs and positive reinforcement.
