About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Children’s Support Worker to create a nurturing and positive environment for young people in East Sussex. This role is crucial in fostering their emotional security, happiness, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a positive environment, ensuring emotional security and happiness for young people.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while promoting appropriate behavior and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Engage in recreational and social activities, providing guidance, counseling, and supervision for personal and social development.
  • Maintain effective communication, create reports, and utilize systems to track progress and address issues.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, training, and support new staff members.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization within the home while managing relationships between young people and staff.
  • Take on leadership duties when necessary and maintain accurate casework records.
  • Provide transportation and be available for sleep-in shifts as required to support young people’s well-being.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience working with children and young people (desirable)
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (essential)
  • Ability to participate in a range of activities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to organize and lead recreational activities
  • Ability to form positive working relationships with parents and outside agencies
  • Ability to become an integral part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • High level of resilience
  • Ability to provide counselling to individual young people
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people
  • Ability to maintain professional standards
  • Ability to support young people in their daily routines
  • Sense of humour
  • Clean UK driving licence
