About the Role:

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a dedicated Clerk of Works to join their Capital Planning and Development Team. This role is crucial in ensuring quality control, safety, and adherence to standards on construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and examine construction works performed by contractors, maintaining accurate records.
  • Conduct quality checks and health and safety inspections on major and minor schemes.
  • Complete and assist with relevant documentation regarding contractor work standards and resources.
  • Report issues or concerns to senior management promptly.
  • Evaluate Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor project quality against established standards, understanding construction procedures and industry knowledge.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in construction, ideally in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Strong communication (written, verbal, and computer).
  • Attention to detail and personable demeanor.
  • Understanding of health and safety standards in construction.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and documentation.
  • Ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction processes.
