About the Role:
Maintain the cleanliness of school premises to a high standard, ensuring all areas are properly cleaned. This term-time position also includes participation in the annual summer deep clean.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean allocated areas of the school site as directed by the supervisor.
- Use cleaning materials and machinery (vacuum cleaners, polishers) as instructed.
- Maintain confidentiality and prevent disclosure of sensitive information.
- Vacuum and spot clean hard and soft floors.
- Wipe furniture, ledges, and other surfaces; polish doors and windows.
- Empty and clean waste and recycling bins.
- Clean toilets and sanitary fittings.
- Mopping and spray cleaning hard floors.
- Wiping and polishing furniture, and straightening.
- Replenish supplies in toilets and classrooms.
- Check and close windows, switch off lights, and lock doors upon completion of tasks.
- Report any misuse, vandalism, or hazards.
- Undertake additional cleaning duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks during summer holidays, including removing chewing gum, dusting, wall washing, and moving furniture.
Skills and Expertise:
- BICSc certification (or equivalent) or ability to obtain after training.
- Proven track record in similar cleaning roles.
- Experience in a cleaning environment (preferably multi-site).
