About the Role:

This Clinical Lead role for the Dual Diagnosis Outreach Team (DDOT) in Peterborough oversees mental health assessments for referrals, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. The role provides clinical expertise and leadership to the DDOT team and broader system, ensuring effective triage and case allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake mental health assessments for referrals from the Dual Diagnosis referral hub and PCMHS.
  • Develop close relationships with Aspire, Garden House, and primary care colleagues through regular meetings and informal contact.
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise to the DDOT and wider system.
  • Triage all referrals and inquiries to DDOT, and allocate cases/interventions accordingly, clinically leading more complex cases.
  • Maintain oversight of DDOT patients in the GPN and work with existing MH services to improve access to care.
  • Signpost patients to appropriate services and, if required, detail out support plans for DDOT B4 roles.
  • Support the integration of the DDOT team by providing reports, statistical and qualitative information alongside PMCHS.
  • Liaise and partner with agencies supporting individuals with housing and substance use issues.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong clinical background in mental health.
  • Experience in managing complex cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Experience of working with individuals with dual diagnosis.
  • Experience in report writing and data analysis.
