About the Role:
Seeking a passionate and experienced School Business Manager to join a primary school on the outskirts of Wigan. This role involves supporting the headteacher and governors in the smooth operation of the school and fostering a positive learning environment for pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the school budget alongside the Headteacher.
- Process all business and finance transactions.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variations in income and expenditure.
- Develop, implement, and maintain office and reporting systems.
- Contribute to operational policy and procedure development.
- Manage office and finance staff, providing leadership.
- Ensure compliance with financial, administrative, and HR regulations.
- Provide expert advice to Senior Leaders and Governing Body on regulations and policies.
- Implement Health and Safety policies and procedures for staff.
- Coordinate staff cover arrangements efficiently.
- Maintain accurate HR records.
- Participate in staff review and development appraisals.
- Ensure effective use of ICT systems to enhance teaching and learning.
- Promote the school’s image within the local community and support the Headteacher in marketing efforts to generate business income.
Skills and Expertise:
- Relevant qualification in business management or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience contributing at a strategic level within senior leadership.
- Experience in line management.
- Proficiency in using complex databases and financial/administrative software.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and health and safety legislation.
- Budget and resource management experience.
- Ability to develop and implement procedures and policies.
- Adaptability and flexibility to lead and manage change.
- CIPD or CSBM qualification (desirable).
