About the Role:
Assist a registered Occupational Therapist (OT) in delivering recreational activities to patients on Henneage Ward. Activities will include one-on-one and group sessions focusing on creative, social, and physical well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead recreational activities for patients, individually and in groups.
- Prepare activity materials and equipment.
- Maintain activity supplies and report stock shortages.
- Develop rapport with patients, encouraging participation and engagement.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapy, nursing, and other multi-disciplinary teams.
- Seek opportunities for volunteer involvement.
- Observe patient responses and report any concerns.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Document interventions according to established procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in mental health preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to work with diverse patient populations.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care.
