About the Role:

Lead a clinical team in Manchester Foundation Trust’s Acute Theatres, ensuring safe, smooth, and efficient perioperative processes. Support patients through the anaesthetic and recovery stages, providing expert care and maintaining a high standard of clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a clinical area, taking responsibility for daily operations.
  • Manage team performance, addressing HR issues, and supporting colleague development to achieve KPIs.
  • Act as deputy to the Clinical Coordinator, facilitating effective clinical practice and patient care.
  • Provide expert, patient-focused care according to Trust policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize and organize care within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality perioperative care.
  • Facilitate communication between team members and associated departments, providing sensitive information to patients and relatives.
  • Lead by example, maintaining a professional environment and resolving conflicts in the absence of the Clinical Coordinator.
  • Support and educate colleagues (including students, ODPs, medical students, and junior colleagues).
  • Facilitate annual development and review processes for assigned colleagues.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a high-technical environment.
  • Thorough and conscientious approach to patient care.
  • Expertise in anaesthetic and recovery techniques.
