About the Role:
This Modern Apprenticeship program provides on-the-job training and a nationally recognized qualification for aspiring Mechanical Engineers in the Building Services sector of Fife Council. You will gain hands-on experience across a range of construction tasks, from maintenance to new builds. This role is suitable for individuals seeking to enter the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop skills and knowledge in Mechanical Engineering, under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.
- Work on all aspects of building services activities, including maintenance, repair, and new builds.
- Demonstrate adherence to company health and safety policies, including the Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) policy for hazardous environments.
- Meet and maintain regulatory requirements for RPE, adhering to HSG 53.
- Work independently and collaboratively, showing a proactive and enthusiastic approach.
- Achieve competence in the chosen trade.
Skills and Expertise:
- National 5s (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and a relevant Science subject.
- Appreciation of the construction industry.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in various environments.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to learning.
- Ability to demonstrate SVQ Level 3 (SCQF Level 6) potential.
