About the Role:

Horizon Care and Education seeks a dedicated Assistant Head Teacher to lead SLT duties at Olympus Academy in Croydon. The role combines teaching with other key leadership responsibilities within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage behaviour and student wellbeing.
  • Ensure quality education across the curriculum.
  • Teach approximately 40% of the working day.
  • Support the Director of Curriculum, Headteachers, Operational Directors and the Managing Director of Education Services.
  • Collaborate with the school’s therapeutic team.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience as an Assistant Head Teacher, ideally in a similar setting.
  • Deep understanding of Ofsted requirements and the ability to drive school improvement.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate and support staff and pupils.
  • Commitment to working with pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Expertise in delivering the National Curriculum.
  • Familiarity with the new Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and Independent School Standards.
